As you turn the page on 2025, what did you learn? And how will you grow in 2026?
If past new year’s resolutions haven’t always worked out, you’re not alone. According to a 2024 article by InsideOut Mastery, almost a quarter of new year’s resolutions fail in the first week and nearly two thirds don’t survive the first month. The highest number fail on “quitter’s day”, the second Friday in January, and fewer than 10% stick.
You deserve better.
There is hope—and I have a free offer below that might help if you read that far.
I just completed a year compass, a free online booklet that I’ve used for the last six years. It prompts you to review the year ending and set thoughtful goals for the one ahead.
One of my best resolutions was in January, 2020 when I resolved to go to the gym regularly. That year, I bought gym memberships for my 18-year-old son and I, then booked us a few months with a trainer. It built a habit. Every year since, one of my annual goals has been to continue my gym habit, now entering its 7th year.
Last year’s resolutions included completing a Change Management Certification (CCMP) and enrolling in UBC’s Certificate in Organizational Coaching. While I succeeded in both, I did not stay connected with as many friends and former colleagues as I had planned. And my spouse is still patiently waiting on several home improvement projects.
My word for 2026 is Depth.
Looking ahead to the new year, I will pursue depth in my connections, especially those in the coaching community. I will also seek more depth in my coaching and change management skills, applying them with both individuals and teams. Whatever emerges, there will be learning.
If you’ve read this far and seek change in 2026, here’s the offer: I am willing to take on three pro bono coaching clients for three months. I am looking for people truly committed to growth and transformation. If you’re ready to make a change and need help:
* Defining clear goals,
* Staying focused on a path to accomplish them, or
* Becoming a better version of yourself,
please send me a private message. We can set up a Discovery call and explore whether coaching is a fit for you.
Wishing you a successful new year, however you define it!
